Byte Night 2010 Draws More Than 250 Attendees

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- More than 250 IT and business leaders gathered on February 26 for NPower Indiana’s inaugural Byte Night celebration at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. Proceeds from the event will help NPower provide affordable technology solutions to hundreds of Indiana nonprofits.

Among the evening’s highlights was the unveiling of NPower Indiana’s first Tech Angel Awards, which provided more than $60,000 in IT products and services to three deserving and innovative nonprofits. Tech Angel Award winners included:

·  The Children’s TherAplay Foundation, who will receive more than $30,000 in IT infrastructure hardware, software and services

·  Girls Incorporated of Greater Indianapolis, who received more than $20,000 in services for a complete website makeover, and integration of e-marketing and social media tools

·  Indianapolis Urban League, who will receive more than $10,000 in technology assessment and disaster recovery consulting services.

NPower also recognized the Indianapolis Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure for their achievements in Digital Marketing, with an award of $1,000 in e-mail marketing services.

“Byte Night 2010 has allowed us to create a new spirit of philanthropy among Indiana’s IT and business leaders,” said John Fallon, NPower Indiana CEO. “In today’s economic climate, giving nonprofits access to affordable IT services and solutions helps them maintain strong business operations and more successfully deliver their important community services. Byte Night’s sponsors and attendees join with NPower to reach nonprofits throughout the state with impactful technology solutions.”

Led by a host committee of 16 IT executives, Byte Night 2010 created a unique gathering of some of Indiana’s top IT leaders and companies, committed to improving technology’s impact on the nonprofit sector. By participating in Byte Night 2010, attendees support NPower Indiana’s mission of providing high-value, low-cost IT services to other nonprofits throughout the state.
